Bitget Wallet has introduced its innovative in-app marketplace, ‘Shop with Crypto,’ allowing users to make purchases using cryptocurrencies for various goods and services.

According to a blog post from the company, the new feature within its PayFi (Payment Finance) program will incorporate capabilities such as Pay Direct, Scan to Pay, and Tap to Pay. The Bitget team asserts that these functionalities will enhance both cryptocurrency adoption and payment efficiency. Unlike traditional services that convert digital currency into fiat, this solution enables a crypto-native checkout experience directly from the wallet.

Furthermore, the newly launched marketplace offers customers access to over 300 global brands. Users can engage in digital wallet top-ups, mobile recharges, and e-commerce gift cards, alongside options in gaming, entertainment, and travel.

Crypto isn’t just for trading, it’s meant for living.

Additionally, customers can make purchases directly on platforms like Amazon, Walmart, Google Play, Steam, Shopee, Tmall, and JD.com using cryptocurrency. Bitget Wallet believes this expansion “significantly broadens crypto’s practical utility.”

In January, the team also revealed its strategic vision for 2025, which emphasizes PayFi as a fundamental element. The aim of PayFi is to connect decentralized finance (DeFi) with real-world applications, facilitating seamless transactions in earning, sending, and spending cryptocurrencies.

Direct, Scan, and Tap Payment Options

The service can be accessed through the ‘Shop with Crypto’ section in the app’s Discovery tab. Users will utilize their Bitget Wallet balance for payments and receive redemption instructions via email.

As noted in the announcement, “The entire process is designed to offer a user experience comparable to mainstream e-commerce, but crypto-native at its core.” Customers can use their fingerprint, FaceID, or PIN to complete transactions.

Additionally, the Pay Direct function allows users to make payments in local currencies or cryptocurrencies through QR codes. The app is capable of recognizing national unified payment QR codes and Solana Pay QR codes automatically.

The Scan to Pay feature further facilitates transactions at any merchant using the national unified payment QR codes. Meanwhile, Tap to Pay enables users to make payments wherever Mastercard is accepted.

Bitget Wallet highlights that a central feature of the new marketplace is its gaming option. This functionality was launched in collaboration with the Web3 supermarket DotMart to facilitate in-game credit purchases for popular titles like PUBG Mobile, Free Fire MAX, and Mobile Legends, claiming prices can be up to 30% lower than direct in-game purchases.

Kan, COO of Bitget Wallet, remarked that the company has “built a simple, seamless, and secure experience that bridges digital assets with everyday spending.” The company also plans to enhance the Shop with Crypto experience with lifestyle subscriptions, expanded travel options, and further merchant collaborations.

In late April, Bitget Wallet announced its integration with the universal crypto payment gateway Paydify, enabling merchants to accept stablecoin payments from users. This allows payments through Paydify’s system using Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) at select online and physical retailers.
