Approximately 100 protesters convened outside the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia on Thursday evening as guests arrived for the Trump Crypto Dinner, an exclusive private event honoring key investors in President Trump’s $TRUMP cryptocurrency.
This invitation-only event, not listed on any public agenda, has been touted as one of the most exclusive crypto gatherings globally. However, it has faced criticism for its clandestine nature and elevated price of entry.
Sources, including The Independent and Bloomberg, reported that demonstrators held signs declaring “America is not for sale” and “Stop Crypto Corruption,” while chanting “Shame!” as attendees disembarked from their vehicles at the club’s security entrance. Some in the crowd shouted, “I hope you choke on your dinner,” while others waved props, such as a gold coin emblazoned with Trump’s likeness and signs demanding transparency regarding the guest list.

Decor, Gifts and Gourmet Fare at Trump’s Crypto Dinner
The dinner hosted the top 220 holders of the $TRUMP memecoin, a cryptocurrency launched earlier in the year and primarily managed by the Trump Organization and its affiliates.
Access to the event was determined by a leaderboard that monitored token holdings over a three-week span. This system granted the top 25 investors added benefits, including a private cocktail reception with Trump earlier that evening.
According to Bloomberg, the dinner venue was adorned with signs that read “Fight Fight Fight,” a nod to the company behind the meme coin. Guests received gift bags containing branded hats and plaques, while the menu featured salad, filet mignon, pan-seared halibut, and warm lava cake.
The guest list included notable figures such as former NBA star Lamar Odom and crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun, who is currently navigating a regulatory case in the United States. Sun shared his journey to the dinner on social media platform X.
Trump promoted the event on Truth Social, asserting, “The U.S.A. is DOMINATING in Crypto, Bitcoin, etc., and we are going to keep it that way!”
Warren Critiques Trump Crypto Gathering as Corrupt and Unethical
The event has drawn significant condemnation from Democratic lawmakers. Senator Elizabeth Warren characterized it as “an orgy of corruption,” referencing recent policy changes instituted during the Trump administration that included the dismantling of the Justice Department’s crypto enforcement unit and alterations at the SEC.
Warren and her colleagues have cautioned that such assemblies can blur ethical boundaries and risk the commodification of political influence by affluent individuals, even those from outside the United States.
The White House provided a vague outline of Trump’s itinerary, indicating he would remain at the club until around 8:30 p.m. EDT. However, it confirmed that the gathering would be off-limits to the media.
Despite the increasing scrutiny, the dinner appears to be part of Trump’s strategy to intertwine political influence with his personal digital business endeavors.
