Elon Musk intensified his criticism on Wednesday regarding the significant tax-cut bill championed by President Donald Trump, asserting that it would lead America into a state of “debt slavery” and calling for lawmakers to “KILL the BILL.”

In a series of posts on his social media platform X, Musk urged his followers to contact their Senators and Congress representatives, expressing his disapproval of the proposed budget. “Bankrupting America is NOT ok!” he declared.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO further criticized the legislation, advocating for the creation of a new spending bill that wouldn’t exacerbate the deficit by raising the debt ceiling by an estimated $5 trillion.

Musk’s critiques began on Tuesday, when he labeled Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” a “disgusting abomination.” Since then, he has made over two dozen posts on X, either directly opposing the bill or discussing related topics such as the growing national debt.

This onslaught of commentary follows Musk’s recent departure from the Trump administration, where he briefly led the Department of Government Efficiency, commonly referred to as DOGE.

Additionally, Musk had contemplated extending his role in the Trump administration as a “special government employee” beyond the legal limit of 130 days, but was reportedly turned down by the White House.

Conflicts between Musk and the Trump administration were also noted, including the refusal of his proposal for the Federal Aviation Administration to manage the Starlink satellite system and the withdrawal of his preferred candidate for NASA administrator.

While Trump praised Musk during his departure from the White House last week, he has yet to publicly comment on Musk’s harsh criticisms regarding the tax bill.

However, on Wednesday afternoon, Trump’s account on Truth Social shared a screenshot of Musk expressing gratitude to the president for his leadership of DOGE.
