The Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC), a collaborative effort organized by and for the Ethereum community, is set to take place from June 30 to July 3 in Cannes, France. This marks the first time the event will be hosted in this vibrant city.
Anticipated attendance for EthCC is over 6,400 participants, accompanied by 390 distinguished speakers and 64 sponsors, alongside a staggering 580 side events planned throughout the conference.
Among the confirmed speakers are notable figures such as Vitalik Buterin, Stani Kulechov, Charles Guillemet, and representatives from Robinhood’s cryptocurrency team, among others.
Moreover, the Mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard, is scheduled to deliver a keynote address discussing the importance of blockchain adoption in France.

Beyond its sheer size, EthCC has also focused on enhancing its content to reflect the evolving ecosystem, featuring tracks specifically dedicated to zero-knowledge proofs, Layer 2s, public goods, and crypto policy. The introduction of initiatives like EthVC aims to connect builders with investors, while additional support services such as childcare and quiet workspaces have been put in place to enhance accessibility and inclusivity.
Two core principles remain unchanged, however: every speaker is selected based on the merit of their topic, ensuring high-quality content, and the conference continues to prioritize the impact of in-person interactions to foster collaboration and innovation within the community.

Bettina Boon commented on the evolving themes of EthCC, stating that each year they adapt alongside the Ethereum ecosystem. “In 2025, we are thrilled to unveil new programming that reflects the direction in which the industry is headed,” she noted.
As engagement from fintech sectors increases with deeper integration into Ethereum, attendees can expect more representation from this area, along with programming that intersects artificial intelligence and blockchain as these technologies begin to converge in practical applications.
In line with the focus on user adoption, a new track centered on product development and marketing will launch, addressing key areas crucial for turning innovative technology into practical tools for everyday use.

Jerome de Tychey emphasized the commitment to Ethereum’s foundational values amid EthCC’s expansion. “As we grow, we’re committed to preserving the community-centered ethos that defines Ethereum,” he stated. “Every speaker application is rigorously evaluated based solely on the topic’s relevance, not the individual’s fame.”

The support from the local administration has been notably strong. “Cannes’ mayor is actively pro-crypto and has fostered an environment where over 30% of shops now accept cryptocurrency payments,” de Tychey remarked. The choice of Cannes not only represents a logistical enhancement but also carries symbolic weight, indicating that Ethereum has secured its position on the global stage a decade post-creation.

Boon highlighted the importance of adapting to the needs of the community, noting the inclusion of childcare services to support attendees who are also parents. “As our ecosystem matures, we are pleased to offer supportive options that facilitate participation for every member attending the conference,” she said.
