On Monday, Iran’s military announced a significant missile attack targeting the United States’ Al-Udeid military base situated in Qatar. The operation was described as “powerful and destructive.”

Witnesses reported hearing explosions in the skies above Doha, the capital city of Qatar, where the Al-Udeid base is located.

According to Qatar’s Defense Ministry, the air defense systems successfully intercepted the missiles aimed at Al-Udeid, with no casualties reported as a result of the attempted strike.

Meanwhile, NBC News indicated that U.S. military personnel were on high alert for potential retaliatory actions from Iran against American facilities in Iraq and Bahrain.

This incident followed two days after U.S. B-2 bombers and cruise missiles targeted nuclear development sites in Iran.

In the aftermath of the missile launch, crude oil prices saw a decline in trading on Monday as news spread.

Prior to the attack, Qatar had closed its airspace as a precautionary measure.

At the White House, President Donald Trump, along with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, was closely monitoring the situation in the Situation Room.

Trump had made a visit to the U.S. base in Qatar in mid-May.

In a statement shared on X, a spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned the missile strike by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. The spokesperson characterized the attack as a “flagrant violation” of Qatari sovereignty, airspace, international law, and the United Nations Charter.

Moreover, the spokesperson affirmed that Qatar reserves the right to respond in a manner that is proportional to the aggression and consistent with international law.
