During a donor event last year, former President Donald Trump reportedly revealed that he had issued a stark warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin about invading Ukraine, threatening to “bomb the s–t out of Moscow.” This information, revealed in an audio recording obtained by CNN, is set to be featured in a new book titled “2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America.”

In the May 14, 2024, meeting at the Pierre Hotel in New York, Trump recounted his conversation with Putin, saying, “If you go into Ukraine, I’m going to bomb the sh– out of Moscow.” He insisted, “I’m telling you, I have no choice,” adding that although Putin initially dismissed the threat, he did start to believe him to a certain extent.

The conversation revealed that Trump also issued comparable threats to Chinese President Xi Jinping to prevent a possible invasion of Taiwan. Trump remarked that Xi viewed him as “crazy,” but emphasized that “we never had a problem.” This audio was provided to NBC News by the book’s authors, Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf.

While it remains unclear when exactly Trump made these alleged threats, it is known that Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022 during President Joe Biden’s administration.

The White House has not yet responded to a request from Finance Newso regarding CNN’s report, which highlights how Trump often spoke more freely in private settings as he sought to engage campaign donors. Since his return to the political arena, Trump has intensified his criticism of Putin, declaring dissatisfaction with the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Trump stated in a recent Cabinet meeting, “He’s killing a lot of people… his soldiers and their soldiers, mostly, and it’s now up to 7,000 a week,” emphasizing his discontent with the Russian leader’s military actions.
