On Wednesday, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that any military action against Iran would result in “irreparable damage.”
“Any American military entry will undoubtedly be met with irreparable damage,” Khamenei was quoted as saying by NBC News.
“The Iranian people will firmly resist any imposed war, just as they will stand against any forced peace. This nation will not submit to any external pressure,” he continued. “The Iranian populace cannot be coerced into capitulation.”
Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday voiced concerns regarding the U.S. relationship with Iran, suggesting that patience among American officials was “wearing thin.” He labeled Khamenei an “easy target” amid the ongoing tensions.
“We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, underscoring that the administration aims to avoid civilian casualties and protect American soldiers while pursuing Tehran’s “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
During Trump’s second term, the administration has been engaged in efforts to negotiate a resolution regarding Iran’s nuclear program, although no significant progress has been made to date.
