Elon Musk has reportedly removed several posts from his social media platform, X, that intensified his ongoing feud with President Donald Trump this week.
One notable post, which was unavailable by Saturday morning, alleged that Trump was mentioned in “files” belonging to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This accusation, which has been contested by the White House, signaled a significant escalation in the contentious exchange between the two prominent figures.
“Hmm…this page doesn’t exist. Try searching for something else,” was displayed on the X page that had previously featured Musk’s remark.
On Thursday, Musk further engaged in the dispute by affirming a user’s suggestion that Trump should be impeached and succeeded by Vice President JD Vance.
That specific post was also removed by Saturday morning.
In a Friday interview with comedian Theo Von, who is associated with the “manosphere,” Vance commented that Musk was making a “huge mistake” in challenging Trump, characterizing the billionaire’s comments as deriving from emotions rather than facts.
The reasons behind Musk’s decision to delete the posts remain unclear, and the White House has not responded immediately to requests for clarification from Finance Newso.
This development marks yet another chapter in the rapidly unraveling relationship between Musk and Trump, who were once allies.
Just over a week earlier, the two had exchanged compliments following Musk’s tenure leading the Department of Government Efficiency.
However, tensions flared this week as both figures exchanged insults across social media platforms, largely fueled by Musk’s outspoken criticism of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” which has been previously reported by Finance Newso.
In one of the now-deleted messages, Musk made an unverified assertion regarding Trump’s ties to Epstein, suggesting this connection was why certain documents had not yet been disclosed.
The White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, dismissed Musk’s claims, expressing, “This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted,” in a statement to CNN.
