On Wednesday, steel manufacturer Nucor announced that it had encountered a cybersecurity incident that led the company to temporarily suspend certain production operations as a precautionary measure.
Headquartered in North Carolina, Nucor reported that it had detected “unauthorized third-party access to specific information technology systems” utilized in its operations.
While Nucor did not detail which production units were “temporarily and proactively” halted in its regulatory submission, the company confirmed it was in the process of restoring these operations.

The company operates facilities across North America.
