Nvidia has revealed plans to produce its artificial intelligence (AI) supercomputers entirely within the United States for the first time. The announcement, made Monday, marks a significant development for the AI chipmaker.
The company, a leader in AI chip manufacturing, is collaborating with various partners to establish over one million square feet of manufacturing facilities. These will be used to develop Nvidia’s advanced Blackwell chips in Arizona and assemble AI supercomputers in Texas.
Production of Blackwell chips has already commenced at TSMC’s chip fabrication plant located in Phoenix, Arizona.
In addition, Nvidia is constructing two supercomputer manufacturing plants in Texas—one in partnership with Foxconn in Houston and another with Wistron in Dallas. The company anticipates that mass production will kick off at both locations within the next 12 to 15 months.
NVIDIA CEO: ‘CHATGPT MOMENT FOR GENERAL ROBOTICS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER’

“The engines of the world’s AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated. “By adding American manufacturing, we can better address the surging demand for AI chips and supercomputers, enhance our supply chain, and improve resilience.”
Nvidia’s AI supercomputers are set to drive the creation of new data centers specifically aimed at processing artificial intelligence. The company has ambitious goals, with plans to construct numerous “gigawatt AI factories” in the near future. Nvidia estimates that its AI initiatives will generate hundreds of thousands of jobs and contribute trillions of dollars to economic security over the decades ahead.
NVIDIA CEO TALKS AI BOOM, ADDRESSES CONCERNS ABOUT TECHNOLOGY REPLACING WORKERS

In their announcement, Nvidia projected that it will invest up to $500 billion in AI infrastructure within the U.S. over the next four years through collaborations with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor, and SPIL.
The company plans to leverage advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital twin technologies, to optimize the design and operation of its facilities. This process will involve the use of Nvidia Omniverse for creating digital representations of factories and Nvidia Isaac Groot for developing robots to automate manufacturing tasks.
Former President Donald Trump acknowledged Nvidia’s announcement through a post on Truth Social and later commented on it from the White House. “It’s big,” he stated. “And the reason they did it is because of the election on November 5 and because of a thing called tariffs. I want to thank Jensen and all the brilliant people involved. Without tariffs, they wouldn’t be doing it.”
This year, Huang hinted that the “ChatGPT moment for general robotics” is imminent, introducing Nvidia’s Isaac Groot initiative aimed at accelerating robotics development.
