Tony’s Chocolonely Inc., a chocolate manufacturer based in Amsterdam, has voluntarily recalled specific chocolate bars distributed in the U.S. and Canada due to the potential presence of “small stones.”
The company announced the recall on Monday, stating that the affected products were distributed to various retailers across both countries.
Seven lots of Tony’s brand Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar (6.35 oz) and Everything Bar (6.35 oz) have been recalled, with the company noting that these products might contain small stones.
The items were available for purchase in U.S. retail locations and through the company’s official website, www.tonyschocolonely. The distribution of the potentially problematic bars commenced on February 7 and concluded on March 24.

The company emphasized that, while the likelihood of an individual product being affected is low, this precautionary measure is aimed at ensuring consumer safety and satisfaction.
Tony’s Chocolonely acknowledged that a limited number of customers reported finding small stones in the affected products, which were not adequately filtered during the almond harvesting and processing stages conducted by third-party suppliers.

According to the company, lot codes serve as unique identifiers assigned to batches of products, facilitating tracking and traceability. For the bars involved in the recall, the lot code is typically located on the side of the candy bar wrapper, beginning with “L” for standard products and “M” for personalized items.
No additional lot codes have been included in this voluntary recall. Tony’s Chocolonely aims to prioritize consumer safety with this measure.
