As 2025 begins, many Americans are actively seeking new employment opportunities.
The latest “Jobs on the Rise” report from LinkedIn, released on Tuesday, highlights occupations experiencing significant growth within the United States over recent years.
Leading the list are positions in the field of artificial intelligence, with the roles of artificial intelligence engineer and artificial intelligence consultant ranking first and second, respectively.

This surge in demand for AI roles is a direct reflection of the rapid growth within the artificial intelligence sector.

Beyond AI, the report’s top 10 also includes a diverse range of professions.
LinkedIn compiled its list based on growth rates derived from millions of job transitions that users experienced between January 1, 2022, and July 31, 2024.

The top 10 roles highlighted in the LinkedIn 2025 report are as follows:
- Artificial intelligence engineer
- Artificial intelligence consultant
- Physical therapist
- Workforce development manager
- Travel adviser
- Event coordinator
- Director of development
- Outside sales representative
- Sustainability specialist
- Security guard
The report includes a comprehensive ranking of 25 jobs, with several new entries not seen in previous editions of “LinkedIn Jobs on the Rise.”
Notably, the 2025 list reflects changes in the job market as roles such as travel adviser and event coordinator have emerged as demand for travel and in-person events has increased post-pandemic.

Other new entries to the top 25 ranking this year include positions such as artificial intelligence researcher, community planner, land agent, bridge engineer, and commissioning manager.
LinkedIn’s report also emphasized that nearly half of this year’s most prominent roles in the U.S. did not exist just 25 years ago. Emerging roles like Artificial Intelligence Engineer, Workforce Development Manager, and Chief Growth Officers underscore the dynamic nature of the contemporary job market.

A recent report from ResumeTemplates.com indicated that 56% of full-time workers in the U.S. are actively seeking or planning to look for new job opportunities as 2025 approaches.
