On Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump is expected to welcome a group of working-class Americans to the White House as he intensifies his efforts to persuade Senate Republicans to expedite the passage of his extensive tax-and-spending proposal.

This gathering, dedicated to promoting Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” aims to showcase individuals whom his administration identifies as “everyday Americans” who stand to gain from the proposed legislation’s tax reductions and other benefits.

Attendees will include truck drivers, firefighters, law enforcement officers, healthcare professionals, ranchers, and tipped workers, according to a White House official speaking to Finance Newso. The news of the event was first reported by Axios.

Maliki Krieski, a DoorDash driver and scheduled attendee, shared her thoughts in a White House statement, saying, “As a mom and a small business owner, every dollar counts.” She added, “Thanks to No Tax on Tips, I’ll be able to keep more of what I earn. This is the kind of policy that makes an impact for people like me across the country.”

Trump took to social media on Tuesday to urge the Senate, stating, “GET THE DEAL DONE THIS WEEK.”

However, the proposed legislation, which has already gained approval in the House in May, encounters significant challenges in the Senate as conservative members express concerns that its implementation could exacerbate federal budget deficits.

On Thursday, the Senate parliamentarian dealt a setback to the bill by rejecting several provisions designed to help mitigate the costs associated with the substantial tax cuts and spending components.

Any amendments to the bill in the Senate will necessitate the House’s re-approval of the final package before it can proceed to the White House for Trump’s endorsement.
