The Trump Organization announced the launch of a new mobile phone service and a smartphone priced at $499, which is expected to hit the market in September.
Under the brand name Trump Mobile, the forthcoming service will provide a monthly plan for $47.45 that includes unlimited talk, text, and data, along with roadside assistance and a “Telehealth and Pharmacy Benefit,” as outlined on its official website.
This new initiative is part of Trump’s broader strategy to leverage his political brand for commercial gain. Notably, both the name of the wireless plan—referred to as “The 47 Plan”—and its price are nods to Trump’s tenure, as he was the 45th president and is currently serving as the 47th.
The promotional material for the device prominently showcases Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
This latest offering joins a range of other products introduced by Trump and his businesses over the years, including watches, sneakers, and Bibles, which often stem from licensing arrangements rather than direct production.
The website for Trump Mobile clarifies, “Trump Mobile, its products and services are not designed, developed, manufactured, distributed or sold by The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals.”
This series of licensing deals has sparked ethical inquiries but also enhances the financial prospects for Trump and his family, allowing them to grow their portfolio with minimal economic risk.
Recently, the president disclosed that he earned over $8 million in 2024 from various licensing agreements.
