On Friday, President Donald Trump announced that five additional law firms have entered into agreements with his administration, pledging to provide a combined total of at least $600 million in pro bono legal services for causes aligned with Trump’s agenda.

This latest development comes amidst Trump’s ongoing threats to implement punitive executive orders aimed at legal firms affiliated with those he considers adversaries, reminiscent of recent actions taken by several other legal institutions.

According to a post made on Truth Social, the president revealed that four prominent firms—Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Allen Overy Shearman Sterling US LLP, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, and Latham & Watkins LLP—each committed to providing at least $125 million in pro bono legal assistance, accumulating to a total of $500 million.

Additionally, in a subsequent post, Trump confirmed a separate agreement with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, promising at least $100 million in similar contributions.

The focus of these pro bono services will prioritize causes endorsed by both Trump and the law firms, which include support for veterans, efforts to combat antisemitism, and initiatives aimed at ensuring fairness within the justice system, according to the president’s updates.
