The White House announced on Thursday that President Donald Trump may consider extending the deadline for his self-imposed pause on tariffs.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt informed reporters that the July 9 deadline concerning trade negotiations “is not critical.”
“The president can provide these countries with a deal if they do not agree to one by the deadline,” Leavitt stated, adding that this would allow Trump to select a reciprocal tariff rate that he deems beneficial for both the United States and American workers.
